In recent years, the New Black Panther Party has attempted to organize and rally against injustices faced by the black community. There are two notable examples, which will perhaps give a bit more depth in regards to the NBPP as an organization and the diversity of its members.
In 2012, the New Black Panther Party put out a $10,000 bounty for George Zimmerman, who had murdered Trayvon Martin, a young African American man, in Florida. Mikhail Muhammad made the argument that it was in the spirit of, "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."
However, in 2014, several NBPP members turned up in Ferguson, Missouri, after the murder of Michael Brown. Shockingly, they did not attempt to incite violent riots, but advocated for the continuation of peaceful protests, accusing those who started violent riots of being infiltrators of the movement.
